Cover page art for Artificial Intelligence in Social Work book. The C+M Silver Center on Data Science and Social Equity is pleased to share the publication of Artificial Intelligence in Social Work: Bridging Technology and Humanity, a new open access book published by Springer Nature.

The volume brings together leading voices in social work to examine how artificial intelligence is shaping practice, education, research, and policy. Across 24 chapters, contributors explore AI applications in areas including poverty and economic inequality, child welfare, health care, mental health, substance use, aging, housing stability, criminal justice, human trafficking prevention, social justice, education, and policy.

At the heart of the book is an urgent question: how can social work engage with AI in ways that are ethical, human-centered, and grounded in the profession’s commitments to equity, dignity, and social justice?

The book is available for free as an open access publication. Readers can access and download the full book in PDF or EPUB format through SpringerLink.
