Please note that each session in the series is designed to stand on its own. Session 1 is not a prerequisite, so you are welcome to attend this one whether or not you joined the first.
AI is already showing up in practice: clients are using it on their own, and agencies are beginning to adopt it too. This live online training examines both sides with equal rigor.
In the first half, participants will look at what clients and patients are actually using AI tools for, what the evidence says about outcomes and risks, and how practitioners across disciplines can raise AI use in sessions and integrate it into care planning. In the second half, the session turns to AI scribes: how they work, what research on efficacy and accuracy shows, and what informed consent looks like when a scribe is present.

Learning Objectives
- Identify at least two documented patterns in how clients and patients currently use AI tools for mental health support, including relevant prevalence data across adult and adolescent populations.
- Describe at least two risks associated with client use of AI tools, including documented safety failures and potential harms to vulnerable populations.
- Apply a framework for raising AI use clinically and integrating client disclosure into care planning across practice settings.
- Identify at least two informed consent considerations relevant to the use of AI scribes in clinical documentation, including practitioner oversight obligations and HIPAA applicability.
Presenter Yoni Neff, MSW, LMSW, is a licensed social worker and practitioner-builder specializing in AI applications in clinical and human services settings. He holds an MSW from the NYU Silver School of Social Work and has developed AI tools with direct applications in social work, including clinical simulation platforms and practice-oriented AI assistants.
